John Finch (died 1740)
The Honourable John Finch (c. 1689 – 1 January 1740) was an English politician.
Finch was a younger son of Heneage Finch, 1st Earl of Aylesford, and Elizabeth, daughter of Sir John Banks, 1st Baronet. Heneage Finch, 2nd Earl of Aylesford, was his elder brother.〔(thepeerage.com Hon. John Finch )〕
He sat as a Member of Parliament for Maidstone from 1722 to 1740.〔(leighrayment.com House of Commons: Macclesfield to Marylebone West )〕
Finch married Elizabeth, daughter and heiress of John Savile, of Methley-hall, Yorkshire. His only son Savile Finch also represented Maidstone in Parliament.〔http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=62946〕 He owned Wornedale Manor.
